Naturopathic medicine is an excellent addition to everyone’s medical care team. Working in conjunction with family medical doctors (MD), a naturopathic doctor (ND) can provide additional treatment options when exploring the holistic causes of conditions. Naturopathic medicine complements traditional medicine rather than replacing it. The ND is able to spend time with their patients exploring in great detail the root cause of medical conditions as well as assist in developing comprehensive treatment plans.
The naturopathic doctor can provide alternative treatment options for common symptoms and conditions patients would see their family doctor for, including:
- Immune treatment and prevention for flus and colds
- Eczema and other skin conditions
- Allergies
- Digestive health
- Women’s health
- Men’s health
- Chronic pain and chronic fatigue
- Migraines and headaches
If naturopathic care is not indicated or other treatment is required, NDs are trained to refer to the appropriate health care professional.
Patients are required to book an initial 1-hour intake appointment and will be recommended for subsequent follow-up appointments in 15. 30 or 45-minute time blocks. To book an appointment with Dr. Cheryl Allen, ND or Dr. Rachel Helferty, ND, call 613-635-7026.
